The Yaeger CPA review course was not the first CPA review course I ever used. After using a different study course, I failed three out of four sections of the exam. It was due to this experience that I bought Yaeger's Home Study Course, which resulted in helping me to succeed in all three sections with impressive results.

The founder, Dr. Phil Yaeger, has prepared candidates for the exam since 1977. Dr. Yaeger and his experienced team offers something that none of their competitors are currently offering: an "Instructors Hotline" (an 800 number) that people can phone to ask questions regarding the course material or about the CPA exam in general. Needless to say, I made regular use of this service and even spoke to Dr. Yaeger on a number of occasions. The lecturers were patient and ensured all my queries were resolved before finishing the call.
I found the lecture videos quite engaging and led by well qualified teachers. The videos followed a simple format where professors explained the key practices and supplied multiple choice questions and samples. A feature with the Yaeger system is that more lesson time is used on materials that will more likely appear on the exam. The instructors also encourage candidates to study the most significant questions likely to appear in the exam.
I also felt the cram DVDs offered good value and accounted for a few point boost to my final exam marks. Each DVD teaches a concentrated version of a single CPA section and varies between 7-16 hours. The focus really seems to be on finding areas you have weaknesses with and adding self-belief and knowledge to strengthen them. I doubt it makes much difference whichever CPA review course you use, the Yaeger cram DVDs will assist with revision for any course and provide plenty of last-minute insight.
All Yaeger CPA review course materials are frequently updated, including lecture videos which are recorded every year. Thus, the student can have confidence they are learning from the most suitable information.
Surprisingly, in spite of their high quality, Yaeger CPA products cost less than than many other CPA exam review courses. All in all, I am very happy with the Yaeger CPA review course and would not hesitate in suggesting it to anyone trying to succeed in the CPA exam.
